With extra cycles, this is what my brain conjures up.
Mostly, it wonders about things that people take for granted.
Or that they don't care about wasting time with.
i usu prefer window because i lean on it and pass out for the duration of the flight. for longer hauls, it's a toss up. if i drink a lot of liquids, it gets really annoying being in the window seat. bothering other people, in my mind, is just as cumbersome as getting bothered by them if not more. but being able to sleep is even more important so i choose window mostly and just drink less =)
btw you have html italics tags at the end of each of the "post a comment" links.
i can't sleep on the flight... but i still prefer window cuz 1) i hate not to be able to control the window blinds especially on a daytime north-south, south-north flight 2) i don't like being bothered by others when they want to go pee 3) i like the extra headroom that i get by the windows :D
My preference is the aisle, because I like having "open air" on one side of me. Gives me less of that cornered-by-someone feeling, and definitely better than the trapped-between-two-people idea. Plus, I've been pretty lucky so far that when I ask for aisle, the middle seat is usually empty, and I get space on both sides!
And I can get up to stretch my legs or whatever, whenever I want.
And about being bothered, I knock myself out once on the plane. And I think people are mostly afraid or too polite to bother you when you're sleeping ... so I guess they just hold it until such time that you awaken again. [shrug] That's their problem.
Oh, and so far sitting in the aisle gives me the first choice in my row on what meal I want to have.
(Yeah, I know about the italics HTML tags, but couldn't find where it was coming from. Will try again later.)
i like the window seat because i dont feel like getting knocked in the elbox or being punched in the face with someone's luggage or bag while they are walking down the aisle.
I like when I fall asleep and my knee "hangs" into the aisle space. Then the nice stewardesses (flight attendants, cabin crew, you know who I mean) come by with their huge and heavy food carts ... and they gently touch my knee so as not to amputate my leg. I get chills from the physical contact.
I really have no preference between aisle and window seats. I want the seat where there isn't some kid behind pulling its back to be able to see what's going on.

I used to love the window seat. A great place to plop a pillow and stare out at the great beyond.
But lately, I prefer the aisle. I can stretch out my legs and roam at my choosing.

Definitely the aisle. I don't like the feeling of being blocked in by other people and having to bother others to use the lavatory.
The aisle seat is more open, a little more leg room (just don't trip anyone walking by), and you can hail down a flight attendant if you need.

speaking of the aisle leg room. i used to love that until a food cart ran over my foot once. never again thank you.

Definitely aisle. My long legs needs some extra stretching room the aisle gives ya.
But I hate being bumped by people / carts going up and down the aisle.

aisle so that i can bolt and plow through the other passengers as soon as the plane lands. (pays to pack lite)
