The shipping was literally overnight, and heck, it was SuperSaver (free) shipping from Amazon.com! (Never mind that they took a while to send it out after I ordered last Friday.) So now, my toy has a new friend, yay!* Hope they play well together!

Are you going to install the hacked firmware for the linksys? Tell me how it is. I've been wanting to get a linksys but already have a working netgear that usually works..
I bought the same router not too long ago and it's working great. I started doing some research on the hacked firmware but haven't had time to really look into it yet.
Amazon's super saving is not about the shipping itself, it's that they can ship a bunch of stuff at once. That's why after you order, they're waiting and waiting to get enough together to fulfill a ton of orders at once. Or so I believe. I suppose I could ask one of my friends working there.
Hey, Ben, do u think i can safe the shipping if i purchase stuff from the state and have it ship to your address, then, i only need to pay your shipping to me which i'm sure will be cheaper?
Momcy, that depends on the product. You're likely to get taxed on the way up.
KC, is that true about Amazon? I thought they just got a super-good-deal on shipping (and took a margin cut in their profit) to eliminate that mental shipping hurdle for online purchasers. Because I don't see that shipping many things at once would save any money, since they're packaged separately anyhow.
Momcy, I doubt it will be cheaper for you to ship to me, and then have me ship it out. I think many retailers are not charging a LOT of money (ie. making profit) to ship their products to you anymore. The only place I think they do that is on eBay, because the sellers use that to their advantage (and also to pay lower fees to eBay while increasing overall revenue). So you're welcome to try, if you want, but I doubt it will save you money, and certainly won't save you time. What do you want to buy online anyhow?
The router's been sitting in my apartment, in clear view, and I haven't even opened it yet to play with it. I have the will power of a god.

In a way, you answered your own question. The way Amazon probably gets a good deal on shipping is by shipping a truckload at once, whether they're packaged individually or not.
"Hey FedEx, will you give us a deal if we fill your WHOLE TRUCK all going to the same city?"
"Uhm. Sure."
