What A Diff'rence A Day Makes

I got back into Taipei last night after 13.5 + 1.5 hours in the air. The Taiwanese government had announced that tomorrow (October 9) would be a holiday so that everyone could have a five-day weekend, in exchange for working next Saturday instead, but our company would have to show up to work because the director was flying in from Germany.

So I get all decked out in my suit for the 9am (sharp) meeting, and I'm there at 8:35am to sync emails and get all settled in. And what do I get?

Let go.

I'm considering a future career in porn, except that my new digital camera won't record in HD.

Thanks for all the sympathetic posts (and calls).

Yeah, I kind of called it (told you so) and I could feel the squeeze.

I'll take a week or two off, do all those life-maintenance things that I've been putting off, reorganize my life and get my workouts going again, and then decide how to proceed (which career path, which continent, etc.).

Stay tuned for exciting updates!

That is teh suck! but look on the bright side - you seemed to hate working there, so it's a good thing. In almost all cases of being laid off, people have ended up better off. Good luck!

And for sure, considering a career in porn would be a huge first step. You don't need an HD camera. You can start small with a webcam, the same way I did.

I know a friend that knows a friend who's cousin's twice removed accountant that can get you into Japanese gay porn.
Let me know if you're interested.

Aigh, being let go always sucks. But I know you'll find something relatively quickly.
