Harajuku Girls?

So. Business trip to Tokyo and Yokohama next week. I'm there the whole week -- Sunday to Sunday -- but meetings are only Monday through Thursday. So I have Friday through Sunday to re-acquaint myself with this city; haven't visited since 1990!

Question is, since it's been 15 years already, what should I do around Tokyo? Already one day (Friday) will be taken by my colleague driving me around the countryside, and he suggests to use the other day(s) to go around the city. What else?

Eat blowfish. You only live and die once. Eat live, squirming octopus. Swallow one without chewing it and see what it feels like squirming in your stomach.

Shopping, shopping and more shopping; but that's just me.. Also check out some clubs and exotic Jap food you can't get in Van or Taiwan. Have a great time Benben!!

Check out the newest gadgets at Akihabara (sp?) Electronics District. See if you can find the $600 rice cooker. Buy some neat little japanese toys and puzzles at the kiosks just outside one of the subway stations at Akihabara. Eat some Okinomiyaki for lunch(sp??). And if you have time, get nekkid and try out one of the many Japanese hotel/spa (natural hot springs) outside the city.

Yeah, you've got to definitely checkout Akihabara (half day or so), gawk at some of the freaks roaming Harajuku, get solicited by the workers in Kabukicho, and eventually migrate to Roppongi where you will be forcibly convinced to visit strip clubs by 7 feet tall foreigners (Whatever you do don't go to a club called 'Gas Panic'!!). Also, don't forget to have all-u-can-eat Shabu Shabu or Yakiniku (3,000 yen or so for something decent). If you have a date checkout Odaiba, a couples hangout. If you want a surreal experience, stand in the middle of Tokyo Station during the day where you will experience being in the absolute busiest place in Tokyo. Anyways, have fun!

Okay, so I'm booked to stay at the Tokyu Stay Shibuya Shin-Minamiguchi, which is in the Shibuya area, close to some train station.

Oh oh oh ... where's the fish market? I've heard about it. Will have to make a point of staying up late or waking up super early to see it.

I think I'll try to find a good place for exotic sushi -- suggestions definitely welcome for a famous restaurant -- but no blowfish. I know you only die once, but you don't gotta make it too soon. I want to try fish that we never get to eat around here. Damn, I can already feel that money burning away on that meal. :-(
